Celebrating 20 Years Of Family Business

Graetz Family

My Journey In 20 Years Of Business

20 years ago David and I had a garage sale in Tennant Creek, left the banking industry, and bought a little business out of the Trading Post with my superannuation and travelled to Port Lincoln with our sons Justin 2 years and Cameron 9 months.  Leader Distributors was situated on the corner of Liverpool and Porter Streets, where Foodland is today.

Our first day of trading at Leader Distributors was on the 18th September 1995, as a husband and wife only team.  Our shop was open in the mornings and closed for deliveries in the afternoons.  Our daughter Emily came along in 1997 giving us three children under the age of four.  This is when we started employing staff and opening our shop from 9-5.

In 1999 we partnered with family to buy out our opposition  and moved into their premises, where we still are today.

In 2000 we started  a party shop called Special Occasions in the Central Hub on Liverpool Street, opposite Coles.

Later we moved next to the Gas Catch on Hallet Place, and went into partnership with friends to establish Party Creations, where we expanded into party hire and costumes.

In 2006 we decided that one shop was enough for us to handle, so we downsized and amalgamated everything into Leader Distributors at 21 Blackman Place, Port Lincoln.

Our greatest assets in business have always been our staff.  We believe that we have the friendliest staff you will find anywhere.

“Leaders in Service” is our motto, so please let us know, how we can serve you better.

Thank-you to our customers for supporting our family, and enabling us to live a good life in Port Lincoln.
